Additing to the list of themed Nintendo Wii Remote controllers, Nintendo will release a Princess Peach themed Wii Remote at the end of this month. According to Nintendo, the new controller includes a crown design over the speaker, blue buttons that echo Peach’s royal jewelry and a golden-yellow plus pad that evokes her regal crown.
The new Peach Pink Wii Remote Plus will be sold in stores at the end of May at a suggested retail price of $39.99. It joins other Wii Plus controllers themed to Nintendo characters, including the red Mario, green Luigi and the gold Zelda (from the Skyward Sword limited edition bundle). Wii Remote Plus includes Wii MotionPlus technology, and works with all Wii and Wii U games that utilize Wii Remotes.
The new controller will coincide with the release of Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U.
A Yoshi-themed controller was also announced, but it’s currently only set to be released in Europe. Still, if the past is any indication, the success of the Wii Remote oversees could lead to a U.S. release. And rumors that this could be Nintendo’s Year of Yoshi only add to this possibility.
