As customary for this time of year it’s time to make some New Years resolutions. As a collector, the obvious resolution would be to buy more and more games. But with recent life changing events, space is a hot commodity in my home. So this year, I decided to actually play through and complete games in my collection.
Like many collectors, eventually I’ll want to actually play the games I collect. Though this concept is not an original one, it will be somewhat of a challenge for me. My attention span in pretty short, and for the majority of my gaming life, I only wanted to play shooters.
The goal is not to beat every Call of Duty game ever made or some easy and short game. I want to tackle games from NES to current gen. RPG’s to platformers to shooters to schmups. This is a personal goal, but I figured I’d lay out a few ground rules for myself:
- No games I’ve already finished unless I’m going for 100 percent completion
- Not all games have to be completed 100 percent
- Take a picture of end screen/credits
- Keep track of the time it took to complete
- No easy targets like Super Mario Bros
I have already compiled a list of games that I want to begin with– mostly current generation games. I can’t promise I will write a review on all the games I play, but I will definitely keep my progress updated. My personal goal is to finish 100 games by the end of 2015. Can I do it? I dunno. I guess I’ll find out soon enough.
