Rediscovered Dr. Seuss book, What Pet Should I Get? releases today

1886

Believed to have been written between 1958 and 1962, What Pet Should I Get? is based on manuscripts that Dr. Seuss’ widow, Audrey Geisel, discovered while cleaning up his office shortly after his death in 1991 and then rediscovered in 2013.

“While undeniably special, it is not surprising to me that we found this because Ted always worked on multiple projects and started new things all the time — he was constantly writing and drawing and coming up with ideas for new stories,” said Geisel.

The book is similar to his other works like One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. The book was found alongside another manuscript, although the details about that book have not yet been disclosed.
